Beginner Grading Syllabus

We follow a proven syllabus as the foundation of our training. The syllabus covers the Kihon, Kata and Kumite of karate and teaches not simply technique but the underlying principals that defines Karate.
A syllabus is a training guide that requires much repetition of techniques and movements to develop muscle memory.   This is a great strength of the syllabus. It however can also be a great weakness if we become completely immersed in the repetition of technique without learning and developing the underlying principals and gaining understanding of application.
There are minimum time periods between each grade level and also minimum lesson attendance requirements. Students will also have to fully demonstrate that they are able to perform to the grade requirement they are attempting , as well as showing a understanding of what they are performing.  Students need to show that they  have the responsibility for the grade level they are working for and genuine Karate spirit in their work.
